Todd received his Bachelor's degree in theater performance, then moved to Ireland where he founded the About Face Theater Company (which is still running today). Living abroad exposed him to many new dialects and acting techniques, opening up a larger range for his students.

Acting Credits

I picture all actors with a series of knobs across the body, like an old stereo receiver where each dial represents a full emotional range, from one to ten. You have a dial for anger, for sexuality, for confidence, etc.

Your job as an actor is to adjust your dials to fit the character you are portraying on a scale of one to ten.

My job as a teacher is to make sure each and every one of your dials goes up to ten.

Teaching Experience

- Actors Accents - Personal Dialect Coach - 15 years

- Green Room Acting Studio - Acting Scene Study Teacher & Audition Coach - 5 years

- Anthony Meindl's Actor Workshop - Acting & Dialect Teacher - 3.5 years

Actor Training Approach

At Actors Accents it is not about “completing” the scene or “getting it right”, the scene is a tool to explore new facets of yourself as an actor, to expand on emotional range, and prepare the actor for the next step in their career.

If as a student you are not comfortable with anger, for example, it may be that your “dial” for that part of yourself only goes up to three (for now.) I assign scenes that help you as an actor step into whatever emotions that are challenging or uncomfortable, through character, so that you can access and own the full range of your instrument. If you start at a three with "power", then we work to add numbers until your dial for "power" goes to a ten.

For 25 years, Todd has thrived as a professional actor across television, film, commercials, and the stage—bringing depth, dedication, and versatility to every role. This diverse experience has given him a profound understanding of the craft and insight into the business behind it, wisdom he shares with his students to empower their artistic journeys and professional successes.

While building his acting career in Los Angeles over the past 17 years, Todd has been coaching dialects, acting technique, and accent reduction, and providing audition prep and being a reader, while teaching in classroom settings, coaching one-on-one, and working with students online across the country.

Some former students include: Gianni Paolo (Power, Ma, Power Book II: Ghosts), Larisa Olenyk (Mad Men, The Secret World of Alex Mack), Justine Wachsberger (Divergent, Now You See Me), and Charlie Bewley (Twilight, Like Crazy, Renegades).
